Nearly a week after the deadliest earthquake hit Turkiye since 1939, chances of finding more survivors are growing more remote, and clearing of debris has started in some areas.

 

The earthquake ranks as the world's sixth deadliest natural disaster this century. It has killed more than 29 thousand 600 people in Turkiye. Turkiye said about 80 thousand people were in hospital, and more than 1 million in temporary shelters.
