30 students from Universiti Brunei Darussalam, UBD were awarded scholarships by Hengyi Industries Sendirian Berhad. The signing of the Memorandums of Understanding was held at The Empire Brunei in Jerudong yesterday afternoon.

The signing of the Scholarship Agreements was witnessed by Dr Haji Azman Bin Ahmad, Permanent Secretary for Higher Education at the Ministry of Education; Dr Hazri Bin Haji Kifle, Vice Chancellor of UBD and Chen Lian Cai, Hengyi Industries' Chief Executive Officer. Also present was His Excellency Wang Hai Tao, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Brunei Darussalam. This marked the tenth batch of UBD students to receive the scholarship under the Joint Chemical and Process Engineering Scholarship Programme.

The event continued with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Institute of Brunei Technical Education, IBTE and Hengyi Industries. Signing on behalf of Hengyi Industries was its Chief Executive Officer, while IBTE was represented by Dr. Hj. Mohd. Zamri Bin Hj. Sabli, Chief Executive Officer of IBTE. The programme offers the Diploma in Control and Automation in Engineering for students of IBTE.
