01/03/2023  Annual Military Exercise Fully Resumes

One of Southeast Asia's largest and longest-running military exercises kicked off in eastern Thailand, resuming full-scale operations after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The drills will be held until 10 March.

 

According to an official press release, over 7 thousand troops from 30 countries will be joining this year's Cobra Gold exercise. This year's drills will focus on land, sea, air, cyberspace, and for the first time ever, space operations, that will train troops how to respond to impacts of aerial phenomena which include solar storms and interruptions to communication systems. The press release did not further elaborate.
