His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah stresses that the Brunei Darussalam-Australia Comprehensive Partnership ensured the continuity of friendship and ties between both countries. Bilateral Meeting & Joint Statement Signing Ceremony


His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam then held a Bilateral Meeting with The Honourable Prime Minister of Australia at Baitul Mesyuarah. During the meeting, the two Leaders also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest, touching upon the ASEAN-Australia Dialogue Relations, developments in Myanmar, the Middle East and the South China Sea.

Luncheon in Honour of The Honourable Prime Minister's Visit.


Following the Signing Ceremony, His Majesty and The Honourable Prime Minister of Australia as well as members of the Royal Family and the official Australian delegation attended a Luncheon held in honour of The Honourable Prime Minister's visit. The ceremony took place at Baiturrahmah, Istana Nurul Iman. The visit provided a valuable opportunity for both leaders to discuss and reaffirm areas of mutual interest, while symbolising the strengthening of cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and Australia.

Visit to Brunei Fertilizer Industries


The Prime Minister of Australia held a visit to the Brunei Fertilizer Industries Sendirian Berhad BFI plant at Sungai Liang Industrial Park, Belait District, 15th April morning. The Honourable Anthony Albenese MP viewed the technology used at one of Southeast Asia's largest single-train fertilizer facilities. Accompanying the Prime Minister of Australia were Senator the Honourable Penny Wong, Minister for Foreign Affairs and His Excellency Michael Hoy, Australian High Commissioner to the country. Also present were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy as Chairman of BFI and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.

Conclude A Working Visit


The Honourable Prime Minister of Australia and delegation departed Bandar Seri Begawan after a Working Visit to the country, 15th April afternoon. Present at Brunei International Airport to bid farewell were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports as Minister-in-attendance as well as the official delegation of Australia; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd. Yusof, Second Minister Of Foreign Affairs; Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Sulaiman bin Alidin, Commissioner of Police, Royal Brunei Police Force. Before boarding the special aircraft, The Honourable proceeded to walk past the Static Guard comprising Royal Brunei Armed Forces personnel.

Mushaf Project Signing and Doa Kesyukuran


The complete 30-Juzu or chapter Mushaf Brunei Darussalam and its interpretation by locals, will be published fully in the near future to become the country's official reference. During the Signing and Doa Kesyukuran Ceremony for the Mushaf Brunei Darussalam and its interpretation Project, the Minister of Religious Affairs explained that, apart from being useful for pupils and students of religious schools, it will also be used as an official gift from Brunei Darussalam to Muslim guests from abroad. Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Awang Haji Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Awang Haji Othman added that the Islamic Da'wah Centre is striving to obtain additional working staff to speed up the process of compiling and reviewing the interpretation draft.

61st PISA-PGB Governing Board Meeting


The 61st Meeting of the Programme for International Student Assessment Governing Board (PISA-PGB) was held at Brazil International Convention Center, Brasilia, Brazil, from 8th until 10th of April 2026. The meeting is organised biannually by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and this meeting was attended by more than one hundred participants from OECD member countries/economies, as well as OECD associate and partner countries. The main agenda of the meeting included a presentation of the latest developments of the PISA 2025 analysis, as well as the PISA 2025 Report launch plan for this September 2026.
